Psychotherapy

Fees*

I see individual clients for 50 min, and couples for 75 min sessions. My fee for individuals is $180 per session, and for couples is $225. I provide a sliding scale for clients in need of financial assistance. And I'm willing to submit insurance claims for clients with participating insurance plans.

Good Faith Estimate*

Clients have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. I provide a Good Faith Estimate to my clients before the start of therapy. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

How I Work*

I specialize in working with trauma and reparenting, racial and sexual identity, immigration and assimilation, artists and creativity, spirituality and the search for meaning. In my understanding, what causes healing and transformation is the strength, depth, and authenticity of the therapeutic relationship. My style is warm, dynamic, and present; energizing, mindful, and attuned.

I completed a 3 year training in psychodynamic, relational and feminist psychotherapy at the Women's Therapy Center in Berkeley. My passion for mindfulness/insight meditation also informs my work with clients.

A Jamaican-American woman, I am very curious about and listen for how culture, religion, place and privilege shape your experience. Having worked with clients from a diverse array of ethnic and spiritual backgrounds, sexual orientations, and interpersonal relationships, I welcome you as you are.

Some of the approaches that inform my work include Psychodynamic, Relational, CBT, EMDR, EFT, Transpersonal psychotherapy, multicultural awareness, mindfulness and creativity.
